It was built in the late 14th \u2013 early 15th century at the initiative of Grand Duke Vytautas of Lithuania. It frequently changed hands between the Lithuanians, Tatars, Turks, and Cossacks. In 1492, one of the first documented campaigns of the Ukrainian Cossacks took place near Tiahyn, when Prince Bohdan Hlynskyi\u2019s detachment attacked a Tatar ship in the Dnipro estuary.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"396\" data-end=\"438\"><strong data-start=\"400\" data-end=\"436\">What\u2019s Interesting for Tourists?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"721\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Today, Tiahyn Fortress is a place where visitors can not only see the remnants of ancient walls and towers but also experience the atmosphere of medieval Ukraine.
